AA-FoRB

Asia Action for Freedom of Religion or Belief

Freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) is an indispensable and inalienable aspect of human rights. This freedom has, however, come under increasing threat amid the growing dominance of majoritarianism across the South Asian region.

In this context, Social Science Baha Services in Kathmandu is implementing the Asia Action for Freedom of Religion or Belief (AA-FORB) for a period of four years. Having begun work in November 2025, AA-FoRB seeks to strengthen civil society institutional mechanisms to respond more effectively to FoRB violations, increase public awareness of FoRB, and strengthen laws and policies at the national and international levels to protect the rights of religious minorities. AA-FoRB is an initiative implemented in collaboration with Minority Rights Group Europe and funded by the European Union and the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This space brings together the publications, advocacy materials, and other outcomes produced through the AA-FoRB project. It serves as a medium for sharing knowledge, amplifying the voices and experiences of affected communities, and supporting collective efforts to champion FoRB across South Asia.
